Manual J Sizing on Every Install

AC & HVAC Installation in East Texas

Central AC, heat pumps, gas furnaces and ductless mini-splits installed for homes, additions and new construction. Sized by measurement, installed to code, and backed by a workmanship guarantee. Serving Canton, Edgewood and Van Zandt County since 1993.

How We Install an HVAC System

Most of what separates a good install from a bad one happens before the equipment is uncrated. Here is the sequence we follow on every job.

    Manual J Load Calculation

We measure the house — square footage, window area and orientation, insulation levels, ceiling height, duct location — before naming a tonnage. Oversized equipment short-cycles, never runs long enough to pull humidity out of the air, and leaves an East Texas house cold and clammy instead of comfortable.

    Ductwork Design & Inspection

New equipment on undersized or leaking ductwork underperforms from day one. We check static pressure and duct sizing, and on older houses we price sealing or replacing runs as part of the job rather than discovering it after the unit is in.

    Equipment Selection

Gas furnace, straight-cool with electric heat, heat pump, or ductless mini-split — the right answer depends on whether you have natural gas, propane, or all-electric service, and what the space is used for. We service Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and York, so the recommendation is not tied to one label.

    Mini-Split Installation

Additions, shops, garage conversions, sunrooms and lake cabins are usually better served by a ductless mini-split than by extending existing ducts. One outdoor unit can feed multiple heads, each with its own thermostat, without touching the main system.

    Code-Compliant Install & Startup

Proper line-set sizing, nitrogen purge and vacuum, correct condensate routing with a secondary pan and float switch, an accessible disconnect, and a level pad. Then we verify charge, static pressure, and temperature split before the truck leaves.

    Warranty Registration & Walkthrough

We register the equipment so the manufacturer parts warranty starts correctly, walk you through the thermostat and filter sizing, and leave the startup readings in writing along with our own workmanship guarantee.

AC & HVAC Installation in Edgewood, TX (75117)

Edgewood sits in northern Van Zandt County off I-20 along Highway 80, between Wills Point and Grand Saline. Much of what we install here goes into older farmhouses and country properties along FM 2965 and FM 859, where the original ductwork runs through unconditioned attics and crawl spaces and was never sized for a modern high-efficiency system.

On those houses the install conversation starts with the duct side. Putting a new condenser on leaking, undersized ducts buys you a fraction of the efficiency you paid for, so we measure static pressure and price sealing or replacing runs as part of the quote instead of leaving it as a surprise. Newer builds out toward I-20 are usually all-electric, which makes a heat pump the sensible install rather than a gas furnace and straight-cool pairing.

Edgewood is about 28 miles from our Eustace shop and we run Van Zandt County routes daily, so estimate visits and install days schedule quickly here.

New HVAC Installation in Canton, TX (75103)

Canton is the Van Zandt County seat on I-20 and hosts First Monday Trade Days, which means a lot of the commercial work we install here — shops, restaurants, rental cabins around the grounds — has to be scheduled around event weekends. We plan those installs for the quiet stretch between events so nothing is torn open when the crowds arrive.

Residential Canton splits between historic in-town houses and rural acreage on propane. In town, the constraint is usually where equipment and ductwork can physically go in an older structure; out on acreage with propane heat, a heat pump conversion often costs less to run than replacing the propane furnace, and we will show you both numbers rather than defaulting to what is already there.

Canton is roughly 18 miles from our Eustace base, which puts a technician on site in under 35 minutes for estimates, install days, and any follow-up.

Installing New vs. Replacing What You Have

If a system already exists and you are swapping it out, that is a replacement — same equipment discussion, different starting point, and usually a faster job. If the space has never been conditioned, or you are adding on, this is the page you want. Not sure which applies? Tell us the address and what is there now and we will sort it out on the phone.

    HVAC Installation FAQ

How long does an AC installation take?+

A straightforward changeout on an existing duct system is usually one day. New construction, a first-time system in a house that never had ducts, or a job that includes ductwork replacement typically runs two to three days. We give you the schedule before we start and tell you if anything found in the attic changes it.

How much does HVAC installation cost in East Texas?+

It depends on system type, tonnage, efficiency level, and how much ductwork the job includes, so we do not publish a single number that would be wrong for most houses. Estimates in the home are free, the quote is flat-rate and written down before work starts, and financing is available with approved credit. Call (903) 479-3015 to get on the schedule for an estimate.

What size AC unit does my house need?+

That comes out of a Manual J load calculation, not from square footage rules of thumb or from whatever was there before. Plenty of East Texas houses were originally fitted with equipment a half-ton to a full ton too large. Oversized systems cool fast, shut off, and leave humidity behind — which is why a house can read 72° and still feel sticky.

    Do you install ductless mini-splits?+

Yes. Mini-splits are our usual recommendation for additions, garage conversions, shops, sunrooms, and lake properties that sit empty part of the year. A single outdoor unit can run multiple indoor heads, each zoned separately, and installation does not require running new duct trunks through an existing attic.

Do you install HVAC in new construction?+

Yes — we handle load calculations, duct design and rough-in, equipment set, and final startup on new builds and additions across Van Zandt, Henderson, and Kaufman counties, and we coordinate with your builder's schedule for rough-in and trim-out stages.

Is financing available on a new system?+

Yes, financing is available with approved credit. We go over the options during the in-home estimate so you can compare monthly cost against what you are currently spending on repairs and utilities.

What warranty comes with a new installation?+

You get the manufacturer's parts warranty — which we register for you so the coverage period starts correctly — plus our own workmanship guarantee on the installation itself. Most manufacturers require documented annual maintenance to keep parts coverage valid, so keep the visit records we leave with you.
